Choosing an Internet Service Provider

To find an Internet provider, check which ISPs are available in your area. Ask friends, family, or neighbors for recommendations. This can help you learn about the best options near you.

ISPs offer different plans with various Internet speeds. Speed is measured in Mbps (megabits per second). For basic tasks like email and social media, 2 to 5 Mbps is enough. If you stream videos or download music, you need at least 5 Mbps or more.

Cost is also important. Faster Internet usually costs more. Check the monthly fees and installation charges before choosing a plan.

Dial-up used to be the cheapest option. However, many ISPs have raised its price to match broadband. We do not recommend dial-up unless it is your only choice.
