AutoRecover in Word
AutoRecover helps you restore unsaved documents if Word crashes or you forget to save. Word automatically saves your work in a temporary folder every 10 minutes.
To recover a document:
- Open Word. If autosaved versions exist, the Document Recovery pane appears on the left.
- Click on the file to open and restore it.
If the file is missing, you can check all autosaved files:
- Click the File tab.
- Select Manage Versions > Recover Unsaved Documents.
Note: If you worked on a document for less than 10 minutes, AutoRecover may not have saved it.
