Using the Fill Handle in Excel
The fill handle is a helpful tool for copying cell content to nearby cells. It is a quick alternative to the copy-and-paste commands. Here's how to use it:
Copying Content with the Fill Handle
- Select the cell(s): Choose the cell(s) that contain the content you want to copy.
- Hover over the corner: Move your mouse to the lower-right corner of the selected cell. The fill handle will appear as a small square.
- Click and drag: Click and drag the fill handle to select the cells you want to fill. For example, to fill cells G13 to G17, drag the handle down to include these cells.
- Release the mouse: Let go of the mouse button. The content will be copied to the selected cells.
