Opening Files and Applications
Every application on your computer can open specific file types. When you double-click a file, your computer uses the correct application to open it. For example, a Microsoft Word document will open in Microsoft Word.
Sometimes, you may want to open an application without opening a file.
Opening Applications in Windows
To open an application in Windows, click the Start button. Then, select the application you want. If you don’t see it, click All Programs/All Apps or scroll through the list in Windows 10. You can also type the application’s name to search for it. In the example, we are opening Microsoft Edge from the tiles.
